Masterson’s Rape Trial Declared A Mistrial

A mistrial was declared in the Danny Masterson rape trial today. This was after two jurors were dismissed on Monday because of COVID-19. The remaining jurors voted seven times on the three rape charges and couldn’t come to a unanimous vote. The jury foreman says that two jurors voted to convict Masterson on the first count, four voted to convict on the second count, and five voted to convict on the third count. The mistrial was declared by Judge Charlaine Olmedo.

“I find the jurors hopelessly deadlocked,” Judge Charlaine Olmedo declared after inquiring whether there was anything the court could do to move them closer to reaching a unanimous decision.

A retrial date was set for March 27, 2023.

A statement was given by the women’s attorney Alison L. Anderson. She speaks of their courage and their civil suit, among other things.

“Our clients showed tremendous courage in testifying about such personal and horrendous acts in a very public forum and despite persistent harassment and intimidation,” attorney Alison L. Anderson said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

“They remain hopeful that Mr. Masterson will experience some criminal consequences for his vile conduct and are eager to now pursue their claims in civil court and seek redress for the nightmare they have been made to suffer.”

All three women were members of the Church of Scientology and knew Masterson. They all say they didn’t file charges because of the “church’s strict protocols against public involvement with member issues.” All three women left the church after they went public with their allegations.

“I just needed to do as I was told and I was not to tell anybody,” she claimed. The victim then described how she faced severe retaliation after disclosing the crime to the LAPD in 2016, and subsequently sued the church and Masterson.
