Republicans are fed up with the Democrats’ refusal to negotiate on raising the debt ceiling. We have been told time and time again that we need to make cuts to social security and Medicare for them to agree, but Speaker McCarthy recently confirmed during a meeting with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) that Republicans would not be making any such cuts.
The absurdity of this situation is astounding! President Biden has refused to negotiate and instead chose to push his agenda and raise taxes. He believes raising the debt ceiling should be done “without conditions” even though it will further put our country into debt.
Furthermore, he’s trying to use scare tactics by pushing a narrative that Republicans are looking to cut social security and Medicare benefits when, in reality, former President Donald Trump spoke out against doing so numerous times. Instead, he said we should focus on cutting wasteful spending from within the government.
It seems like every day Democrats come up with another way for us taxpayers to foot the bill for their big government dreams without looking at ways they can cut back on their expenses or find alternative sources of revenue. It’s disgusting how they think they can take advantage of hardworking Americans who already pay more than their fair share in taxes.
There needs to be an end put to this ridiculousness now. The people deserve better than what they are getting from the current administration–we need real solutions, not empty promises. If Democrats want us taxpayers to keep footing their bills, then they need to start negotiating in good faith or face serious consequences come election season.
