From economic policies that have led to inflation to a series of controversial foreign policy decisions, President Joe Biden has certainly had his fair share of successes and failures. But how did he score when it comes to the economy, immigration, foreign relations, and climate change?
When it comes to the economy, opinions vary widely on how well President Biden handled the situation. While some people believe he failed due to rampant inflation and skyrocketing gas prices caused by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline project, others are more positive about his approach. One Texan gave him a B for keeping things together and trying to help those who need it.
On immigration, most people agree that President Biden has not done enough to address the problem. A Phoenix resident gave him an F for allowing an illegal caravan of over 1,000 people into El Paso within four hours. The Texan was slightly more forgiving but still gave him a C or D grade because it’s “a generational problem that’s gonna take a long time to correct.”
One Nebraskan was particularly critical of Biden’s foreign relations skills – giving him an F – as they believe he has given Ukraine too much money for their war with Russia without gaining anything in return. An Austin resident echoed this sentiment with a D grade for not presenting America in “a positive light.” However, some argue that providing military aid is necessary for defending Ukraine’s sovereignty from unprovoked aggression by Russia.
Most Americans agree that President Biden needs to do more when it comes to addressing climate change – although opinions vary on exactly what kind of action should be taken. One woman gave him a C because she hasn’t heard any actual plans or steps being implemented yet while another person believes he should get an A+ if he follows through on all his promises related to environmental protection and sustainability initiatives such as rejoining The Paris Agreement and passing new legislation like the Clean Energy Plan.
