On Sunday, Brian Walshe, the husband of missing mother-of-three Ana Walshe was arrested and charged with misleading a police investigation. The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office filed the charge against Brian Walshe after he failed to provide adequate information about his wife’s whereabouts
Ana Walshe was last seen on New Year’s Day when she was expected to take a rideshare to Logan International Airport in Boston and fly to Washington D.C., where she works in real estate. She never boarded her flight, but it remains unclear if she ever caught the rideshare or not. Initially, Ana Walshe was supposed to leave for D.C. on Tuesday due to “some type of emergency” at work but left earlier than anticipated according to police reports.
Brian Walshe has been charged with misleading a police investigation into his wife’s disappearance. He has been taken into custody and will be arraigned on Monday morning. Although there is no evidence that Brian Walshe had anything to do with his wife’s disappearance directly, it appears that he may have lied or withheld important information from the police which could have helped them locate her more quickly and efficiently. According to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, this charge carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines if convicted.
Though Brian has been arrested and charged with misleading an investigation there is still no evidence that suggests he had a direct hand in Ana’s disappearance. The search has been called off after close to two dozen state troopers and three K9 teams searched the wooded areas near the home of the Walshes. There hasn’t been any “digital footprint” from Ana Walshe at all this past week. Police say her phone has been turned off since New Year’s Day.
