New York City Mayor Eric Adams is pushing for a $2 billion taxpayer-funded handout to house and feed the economic migrants that he wants to bring into Americans’ jobs and apartments. This plan would put an already struggling American population at an even greater disadvantage.
It’s unacceptable that hardworking taxpayers are being asked to foot the bill for Mayor Adams’ irresponsible decision-making. He should not be allowed to get away with making this unfair demand on ordinary citizens who are already struggling in the wake of the pandemic.
The mayor has failed to recognize the fact that one in seven New Yorkers is living below the poverty line, and cannot afford additional taxes or fees. It’s wrong for him to expect taxpayers to shoulder this burden when they’re already dealing with so much financial instability themselves.
Furthermore, Americans need more help from our national leaders than just another big bill from Mayor Adams. We need comprehensive policies that will lead us out of poverty, create good jobs, and ensure everyone has a fair chance at success – not just those lucky enough to be chosen by Mayor Adams as part of his migration plan.
Mayor Adams’ $2 billion proposal is nothing more than a slap in the face for Americans who have been hit hardest by recent events and deserve better leadership from their elected officials. He needs to prioritize taking care of American citizens instead of giving money away on ill-advised schemes like this one.
This is leaving many Americans wondering if they do this in New York will it happen in their state next?
