Queen Elizabeth II Passes Away At 96 years old!

Queen Elizabeth passed away today at 96 years old. She was the longest-serving monarch in the United Kingdom. She took the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years. She wasn’t crowned until 1953 at the Westminster Abbey when she was 27 years old.

She was at her estate in Scotland when others became concerned about her health, doctors had her under medical care. Her family, including her all of her children, and her grandson Prince William. Prince Harry is on his way there now.

Queen Elizabeth II’s death now means her oldest son Charles, now the former Prince of Wales will be the King and head of state.

In a statement, His Majesty The King said: “The death of my beloved mother Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

He said during the period of mourning and change he and his family would be “comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held”.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. “The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

Queen Elizabeth II was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. She was born on April 21, 1926, in London. Her father became King George VI when she was only 10 years old. He became King only because his brother, Edward VIII, was abdicated from the throne.

During her time as head of state, she dealt with a lot of things, including wars, natural disasters, and so much more. She reigned through 15 prime ministers, starting with Winston Churchill and ending with the newest Prime Minister, Liz Truss.
